LA NAPOULE ART FOUNDATION

SPRING COHORT 2022

La Napoule Art Foundation offers time and space for creative minds to engage in cultural interchange and meaningful work that impacts the world of the common good, by providing residency opportunities for accomplished and emerging artists from around the world.

STUDIO

My studio was located just off of the main court yard. My favorite studio to date. Beautiful natural light, tall ceilings and big white walls. So much magic to be made here.

THE GARDEN

In between paint layers, the garden was the perfect place to rest and rejuvenate.

EXPLORATION

I did a lot of exploring of my practice. Some deep contemplation about my process and my reasons for making creative choices took place.

SEMI-COMPLETE THOUGHTS

This is where we see the birth of the Big Girl Panties project. Most complete thoughts centered around mood exploration and trying understand new materials that could be used for this work.

PROCESS

This residency offered a lot time to experiment and play with my time and materials. I made a conscious choice to limit the amount of materials I brought with me. Instead, I focused on acquiring a majority of my materials from the local area. The only things I took with me were: my sisters 6 grade field trip photos of Monterey Beach from an old disposable camera, my hot glue gun, and my staple gun.
